A SPring weekend in oregon

Although it's been Spring for almost a month, this was the first weekend where I felt the season was in full swing and I knew Summer adventures were ahead. Between Easter and Earth Day around the corner, I couldn't think of a better way to celebrate these holidays than to go hiking with some good friends, frolic through tulip fields and take advantage of the gorgeous sunshine.

FRIDAY: WAHCLELLA FALLS - THE GORGE

Before I headed back home to Portland for the holiday weekend, I met up with my friend Gavin (@gavinjohnson245)  to spend the afternoon on a hike to one of my favorite waterfalls in the Gorge. We wandered along the trail, enjoyed the beautiful scenery and talked about our excitement for summer adventures. As we reached the waterfall, the blue and green hues immediately caught my eye and I couldn't wait to capture all of the gorgeous tones.

Along the way, we also met this very sweet adventurous couple (@gpautz) who admitted they bought a red raincoat just for taking pictures. Luckily, I got to snap a few photos of her and I had to admit the jacket stood out perfectly in the scene.

SATURDAY MORNING: ABIQUA FALLS

Originally I made plans to meet up with a couple of friends for sunset at the Tulip festival, but it wasn't until Friday evening when I found out I was invited to go hiking at Abiqua Falls in the morning and I couldn't pass up an opportunity to venture off to another one of my favorite waterfalls. As we scrambled down the muddy trail our timing could not have been more perfect as this golden light began to emerge through the trees and created this beautiful luminance over the tucked away waterfall.

SATURDAY EVENING: WOODEN SHOE TULIP FARM FESTIVAL

One of my favorite things to do in the Spring time is to visit the annual Tulip festival held in Woodburn, OR. After our hike to Abiqua Falls, we decided to stopover by the farm for sunset. Between the endless fields of tulips and the pink and orange light from golden hour, I could not get enough of all the beauty I was surrounded by.

I couldn't have asked for a better way to spend the weekend. It was days filled with muddy trails,  a much needed dose of sunshine,  decadent flowers and great company. My heart was filled with so much contentment being surrounded by people who radiate their love for the outdoors and inspire me with their passion for photography. I came back from the weekend feeling refreshed and exhilarated to meet new friends, capture new perspectives and simply create.

Remember to keep doing what makes you happiest and surround yourself with people who do the same.

Thank you for reading along, I hope you all had a wonderful Easter weekend!
